BIOGRAPHY

Shannen Halliwell is a glass artist/designer-maker, who graduated from the University of Wolverhampton (2019) with a BA(Hons) in Applied Arts, specialising in hot glass.
With having strong artistry throughout her early life/education, she first began as a studying fine artist in school/college, focusing on drawn and painted portraiture. It was on the completion of a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design at Runshaw, Lancashire where Shannen was able to fully delve into the exploration of 3-dimensional forms, ultimately ceramics.
At the University of Wolverhampton, Shannen initially began by experimenting with both glass and ceramics and quickly discovered her passion for molten glass, its tantalising attributes and its demand of high-level skill. Shannen has been able to familiarise herself with a range of traditional and contemporary techniques. More recently becoming immersed in cane and murrine techniques and its endless scope of possibilities.
Shannen takes inspiration from natures admiral qualities, such as: flora and fauna, crystals, and the marine environment.
